Xiaomi Redmi Pad vs Realme Pad x Comparision

Table of Contents

The tables have kind of turned Realme launched the Realme pad x a few months back and now Redmi has launched the Redmi pad and both of these tablets are very close so let's find out who's the winner

Usually, this happens "Xiaomi launches something and Realme is quick to launch something very similar"

Design Feature

So here is the Redmi pad and it has a kind of usual tablet design but I like the fact that it does not look cheap the backend frame are said to be aluminum but it looks and feels plasticky to us so I'm not sure who's right anyway apart from the different camera module it does look and feel a lot like.

The Xiaomi pad 5 is not a bad ting because this is comfortable to carry and use I mean it is Sleek at 7.05 millimeters thickness and the weight is fine at 465 grams now in terms of functionality the Redmi pad does not have a headphone jack and it does not have a fingerprint scanner and it is a Wi-Fi only tablet there's no 5G or LTE support in this tablet anyway it does have a micro USD slot and there are quad speakers here with this nice Dolby Atmos branding and these four speakers are loud and crisp with good sound quality.

Display

Display this is a 10 inch tablet and these are the display specs and there's one thing that stands out here the 90 Hertz refreshed it this is the sole reason why the Redmi pad just feels more smoother be it when scrolling in Instagram or when reading an article there's also great display for watching movies and shows it's a 10-bit display and the colors look pretty good and I like how the videos look sharp and nice so combine this with the very good speakers and you get a solid tablet for multimedia now if you're wondering there is no HDR support here but it has the wide Vine element license as you can see in the Netflix app look under the displays of these two tablets are a big talking point the

Redmi pad has a 90 Hertz LCD screen with 400 and it's a peak brightness the Realme pad X has a 60hz LCD screen with 450 nits of peak brightness now I did not notice that a big difference in terms of brightness but the 90 Hertz refresh rate does make this display a lot smoother this one now this display is only set to support capacitive styluses the ones with the rubber tape and yeah we tried out apple pencil the Asus pen the S Pen the Realme pencil none of them work.

Performance

let's talk about the performance now the Redmi pad comes with MediaTek Helio g99 chipset which if you don't know is the g95 or even the g90t but it's slightly overclocked and it's built using the more efficient 6-nanometer architecture other than that the tablet has up to 6 GB RAM and 128GB storage and when it comes to benchmarks the g99 does fall short of the Snapdragon 695 but as you can see it's not a big massive difference benchmarks

Redmi pad is good in terms of day-to-day usage simio has smooth here apps launched quickly the multitasking features work fine without any lag or slow down but the gaming ranges between good to okay I say that because most games run very well on the Redmi pad but when playing an intensive game like Apex Legends we did notice some startup let me make it clear it's not a deal breaker you can game on this tablet the FPS is mostly consistent but yes there is some starter here and there look if I had to compare I'd say the game performance on the Realme pad X is just slightly very slightly smoother now one area where I feel the Redmi pad is better is the software

Software

Redmi pad is better in the software see the Redmi pad comes with the same experience that we saw in the xiaomi pad 5 and that means there are no ads no bloatware and the UI is optimized for tablets most xiaomi apps use a dual paint design for the bigger screen and I like this and Miu f a pad also has this very handy dock which shows you the apps you have pinned along with your recent apps now this dock is available in all apps so here I am in Chrome and I can swipe up from either the left side or the right side to open this dock I cannot press hold on an app and then open it in a floating window like this or I can just drag an app to the side and open it in a split screen this is very cool honestly this stock is very handy I like it in the xiaomi pad and I like it here and as for the update xiaomi is Promised two Android updates and theories of security patches which is good enough for a budget tablet

Camera

moving on to the cameras on the front the Redmi pad has 105 degree wide angle front camera with the center stage like feature called Focus frame that focuses on one person and zooms out if another person joins in I don't think it works really well as well as on iPad or even the Realme pad but yeah it's a good feature to have the front camera is about 1080p videos and this is a video to give you an idea about the Dual mic so let me know what you think in the comments down below the real camera is an 8 megapixel camera which is fine and this 2 is limited 1080p.

Battery & Charging

The battery is an 8000 mAh battery which is good and the battery life seems very good compared to the pad X which actually has a bigger 8340 mAh battery.

so we did a one hour video test where we played the same 1080p video on both tablets with the screen set to full brightness and the volume at 100 and the Redmi pad lost 11 while the pad X lost 17 battery and that is a pretty big difference.

When it comes to charge of the tablet supports 18 watt charging even though there is a 22.5 watt charger in the box and the charging speed is obviously not so fast it takes 2 hours 35 minutes to fully charge the tablet in terms of connectivity this has Wi-Fi 5 Bluetooth 5.2 and there's no GPS or NFC here

Prices

let me tell you the price the Redmi pad starts at 15K with the introductory price being 13k and here is the price of all of its other variants now this is very good pricing for this tablet now in this price range

Winner

let's come back to the big question which is the winner first. If I had to choose between these two tablets I'd say both these tablets are very close and neither of them is a bad device but I'd go for the Redmi pad for three main reasons 90hz refresh rate Miu for pads dock feature better-optimized battery as for the Realme pad X it to has its advantages slightly better gaming good accessories already available and faster charging see both of these tablets are good and it's clear that budget tablets in India are getting better it's nice to see but let's talk about this which one of these will you go for the Redmi pad or the Redmi pad X comment down below.
